Dr. Damien Riggs, a gay parent and sperm donor, has written a book about lesbian and gay parenting that specifically addresses the cultural atmosphere in Australia.

Becoming Parent: Lesbians, Gay Men, and Family combines academic and political insights with the experiences of a parent to create a readable book that's educational and enjoyable. Riggs mixes personal stories with critical commentary for parents and non-parents. He covers a broad range of topics like diversity within our communities, the media, and law.

Dr. Riggs is a professor of psychology at the University of Adelaide.
