What's going on with Jodie Foster?

Jodie Foster's heart has been broken - and her pals say she's got only herself to blame.

The mother of two is devastated that the woman for whom she dumped her longtime partner has rekindled a romance with an old flame.

"Ironically, now it's Jodie who has been jilted," a longtime friend told The ENQUIRER. "She's miserable."

The two-time Oscar winner had met her new romantic interest, writer-producer Cindy Mort, while filming The Brave One in 2006.

But now in a classic case of what goes around comes around, Cindy has reignited a romance with a previous gal pal, Amanda Demme, The ENQUIRER has learned.

Amanda is a well-known Hollywood club promoter and the widow of film director Ted Demme. She's also been romantically linked to Lindsay Lohan.

Jodie, who often plays strong, self-assured women, fell apart at the news, disclosed the friend.

Jodie Foster split from her partner of 15 years

Major news sources have announced that Jodie Foster [45] has split from her partner of 15 years - Cydney Bernard [55]. According to press reports, Foster left Bernard for screenwriter Cindy Mort [41].

Mort and Foster [pictured] got to know each other while filming "The Brave One", which was written by Mort.

Mort was in a relationship with "thirtysomething" actress Melanie Mayron at the time.

Bernard - who was surprised at the devastating news - and Foster have been raising Foster's two biological sons, 9-year-old Kit and 6-year-old Charles.

After a lifetime of silence about her personal life, Jodie Foster thanked "my beautiful Cydney" after winning an award at the Women in Entertainment Power 100 breakfast - in early December.

Lesbian hearts briefly fluttered worldwide. And Joan Rivers added a new joke to her material.

During her acceptance speech, Foster thanked Cydney Bernard - saying the film producer "sticks with me through all the rotten and the bliss".

Foster reportedly met Bernard on the set of the film Sommersby in 1993. Jodie later gave birth to sons Charles, 9, and Kit, 6 - and the sons are raised by both women.

Her latest movie Nim’s Island is due for release in May 2008.

On a recent Today Show segment, Joan Rivers said of Jodie:

"She didn't come out - she tripped on Tom Cruise - and fell out of the closet."
