hello- My first entry

Well we just made our reervations to fly out to Arizona to try our second attempt at inseminating our surrogate. It has been such a strssful time that I thought maybe if i joined this group and got some support it might help :)

Our journery started over a year ago when we joined an adoption ageny. We really thought it would work for us but after a year we decided to go with surrogacy. Finding a surrogate that we matched with took a few months and then all the tests and contracts were another few months. Well next week we will try to do the home inseminations again. For me the waiitng the two weeks is soooo awful. Its such a roller coaster ride of emotions. I am so glad to see other people on the same ride...I hope to hear from everyone and to see some people get off this crazy ride with a baby in tow :)

Similar Journeys

I, too, started with adoption two years ago and recently decided to have my own child via surrogacy. I was trying to adopt a toddler but eventually the process was turning into a saga. My attorney encouraged me to pursue surrogacy and referred me to a really great agency in Orlando. That was last fall and today begins the 7th week of our pregnancy. So keep the faith. Now that I am at this point with the baby due next January, I feel sort of useless. I speak to my baby's surromom almost every day and I have her put the phone beneath her belly and I speak to my baby. Soon you will be doing the same, thinking of names, decorating the baby's room and waiting. Best of luck. jody

You're not alone

My partner and I are going through the surrogacy process too. We started in November, were matched with our surrogate in January and picked our egg donor in February. Legal documentation and all of the rest of the process seemed to drag on, but we just came back from our embryo transfer. We have to wait to see if we're pregnant until next week. There's a low probability as the doctor told us that the embryos were of poor quality. We're hopeful. We have been waiting for so long to become parents that at times I feel like I'm about ready to burst with anticipation. Just know that you're not alone and from where I'm standing, what you're feeling is normal. Best of luck! -Ed
