We even thrive on our state’s individual rights as a general premise, even though under the full faith and credit clause of the U.S. Constitution, states are generally required to recognize and honor the public laws of other states.

First Birth Certificate to name both lesbian parents

This is the birth certificate that leaves the father off the official record for the first time in nearly 200 years. It shows only a mother and a ‘parent’ – also a woman – for newly-born Lily-May Betty Woods. The baby was born to 38-yearold Natalie Woods. The parent named on the form is Miss Woods’s partner, 47-year-old Betty Knowles.

This is a high-stakes event. This social worker has the power to advance your dreams or stop them dead. Don’t be placated by anyone who tells you, “Relax. Just be yourself.” When has that ever worked for anyone? Here are some suggestions.

Traditionally, the push present is a gift new fathers bestow upon the woman who has successfully completed the delivery of “his” child. Technically this refers to vaginal births although push presents are also rewarded to women who have endured caesarean sections.

Today, push presents can go to anyone with the pain tolerance and fortitude to knock out a baby – whether they’re straight or gay. Gay men should definitely get something nice for their surrogate. But whether or not the partner of a lesbian should expect one depends on the couple’s complex relationship dynamics.
