NY Gov. David Paterson recently addressed the guests of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force's [NGLTF] 2008 New York Leadership Awards dinner.

New York will recognize and honor same-sex unions from elsewhere. Gay marriage is okay in New York state.

Although lesbian and gay citizens of New York cannot marry, those who marry elsewhere in the world will be supported by the state.

According to The New York Times:

"...the appellate court in Rochester held that a gay couple’s 2004 marriage in Canada must be respected under the state’s longstanding marriage recognition rule..."

Signature drive to help ban gay marriage in Florida is successful. Constitutional amendment on November ballot.

Fair-minded citizens of Florida must get themselves to a voting booth this November. The plan to ban same-sex marriage - via a constitutional amendment - has generated anxiety and action for a growing number of Florida voters.

And the plan is moving forward. The Associated Press is reporting, the same-sex marriage ban was certified with 649,346 signatures - 38,337 more than the minimum.

Bill McConkey wants to play fair in the fight for marriage equality in Wisconsin. He's also a straight, married, Christian - with a lesbian daughter.

McConkey is trying to prove that wording of the constitutional amendment, as it was submitted to Wisconsin voters, violated Article 12 Section I of the Wisconsin Constitution.
