Hello!
I am a graduate student at Northwestern University and also an adoptive parent. I am currently researching the types of discrimination gays and lesbians face in the adoption community. I am hoping some of you may be so kind as to share your feedback on these issues...I have a short questionnaire I would like to send you if you are willing to take part..No names will be used...just the data gathered through the questions. Our goal is to explore how various experiences, religions or cultures lead others to hold a negative perception of gays and lesbians as adoptive parents.
I believe that everyone, regardless of their gender or sexual orientation, should have the right to have a child. I realize that there are many lesbians who would like to conceive a child but do not have a suitable sperm donor. I am willing to help. I have never done something like this before, but I want to give it a chance. I am a handsome white male, in his early thirties, healthy, never did drugs and never engaged in high risk sex. I am educated, very intelligent, and have a cheerful, respectful, and optimistic personality.
LGBT PARENTS:
You can participate in a candid independent feature documentary about the gayby boom. More and more LGBT people are considering parenthood. Parenting is now a happy thread that ties our community together and we want to show that in a positive light.
Are you willing to share your personal story with a larger audience? Myrina Films is searching for interview subjects that have been or are currently going through the pregnancy process for our documentary project currently in production.
The APA gives a summary of research findings on lesbian mothers, gay fathers, and their children. The APA's information also provides resources relevant to lesbian and gay parenting.
Growing Generations and Circle Surrogacy are two agencies that cater to the gay and lesbian community.
