ProudParenting.com blogger - Carrie Smith - is a writer who exposes a funny side to lesbian and gay parenting. Carrie examines all corners of this new frontier in her blog called Way Out Parenting.

Two of our new bloggers are trying to get pregnant in the comfort of their Iowa home. ProudParenting.com member - Us 2 - is sharing their story with us.

She writes: "This is my first blog! We have attempted at home insemination for the past 3 months. We have been together for the past 8 years. We have good jobs and own our home..."

and

ProudParenting.com member - SarahM - is chronicling the steps she's taking with her partner, to build a family.

She writes:

"I am very new to this site, but I am just desperate to communicate with people that are and have gone through the same things..."

At first, the couple struggled with the options available to them. They talked about adoption versus insemination, then decided on insemination. But the decision came after much processing of the fears that can arise during the decision-making process.

Proud Parenting members - Diana and Melissa - are trying to get pregnant.

The beautiful couple has been together for 5 years, and they started the AI process in February.

From their home in North Carolina, Melissa writes:

"Finally we can try again! Our IUI this month is on the
18th! We are so excited we can finally start trying for a baby again and are hoping, of course, it happens the first try! :)

In his first blog post, Proud Parenting member - rodneycruise - introduces his partner Jeff and their son Ethan.

The family lives in Richmond, Victoria - in Australia - and the two fathers run a website called Gay Dads Australia.

GDA is a site that supports gay men who are planning on, or who are already parents. It includes active discussion lists and calendars - to keep members informed of events in and around Victoria and New South Wales.

In his blog post, Practical Tips for Lesbian and Gay Parents Raising Teenagers - Tony Madril, M.S.W., B.C.D. - shares his knowledge gained as a California clinical social worker and psychotherapist.
