Indiana lawmakers may review marriage equality amendment in 2013
Some of Indiana’s key Republicans in the GOP-led legislature have recently withdrew their support for an amendment defining marriage as being the union of a man and a woman, citing the effect it could have on the state’s economy. Some companies have said they oppose such a measure because it would discourage talented workers from taking jobs in Indiana.
A poll by WISH-TV and Ball State University showed 45 percent of Indiana voters support equal marriage; another 45 percent oppose it.
