The project had been turned down by the school in November.<\/p>\n<p>The students, their parents and the principal of St. George School met to discuss the project, then Ottawa Catholic School Board wrote an email statement:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The girls will be doing a project on how the topic of gay rights is addressed by a Catholic high school\u2019s equity club.
