{"id":21014,"date":"2018-10-26T12:52:01","date_gmt":"2018-10-26T12:52:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/proudparenting.com\/?p=21014"},"modified":"2018-10-26T12:52:01","modified_gmt":"2018-10-26T12:52:01","slug":"lgbt-couple-named-florida-foster-parents-of-the-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/proudparenting.com\/2018\/10\/lgbt-couple-named-florida-foster-parents-of-the-year\/","title":{"rendered":"LGBT couple named Florida Foster Parents Of The Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/proudparenting.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Foster102618.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"420\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-21015\" srcset=\"https:\/\/proudparenting.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Foster102618.jpg 640w, https:\/\/proudparenting.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Foster102618-300x197.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><br \/>\nThe <a href=\"http:\/\/flchildren.org\" target=\"_blank\">Florida Coalition for Children<\/a> has honored Bobby Sharp and Everett Kamuchey as &#8220;Foster Parents of the Year.&#8221; Over the last five years, Sharp and Kamuchey have taken in \u201csome 20 children,\u201d and are believed to be the first LGBTQ couple to receive the honor.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You have to be a foster parent for the right reasons,&#8221; Sharp told the Orlando Sentinel. &#8220;It should be about taking care of these children, wanting them to be with their families, and being prepared to go the extra mile for them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The couple lived in Orange County, Florida while they fostered abused, neglected and abandoned children.
