What’s it like to be a gay teen? Read “Totally Joe”

When 13-year old Joe Bunch is assigned to do a biography for class, he thinks it’s a lame idea; and he definitely doesn’t expect to learn so much about himself during the horrific process of completing the task. The novel Totally Joe (ages 10 and up) deals with subjects such as bullying, homophobia and gay youth. Reviewer Grace Allen Polaneczky says the book is “a short and happy read that’s optimistic and fun. It’s touching and understandable – with some sad parts”. Totally Joe is written in a clever, alphabetical format. “It’s a nice read with great morals, for readers no matter what their sexual orientation“. Also, Read Grace’s blog!
