Vote on marriage equality expected in Rhode Island

Openly gay House Speaker Gordon Fox (pic) said he intends to call an early vote on marriage legislation and passing it is one of his top priorities. Fox says gains in the state’s General Assembly and marriage equality victories around the U.S. are evidence that the public supports allowing same-sex couples to wed.

The RI House did not vote last year because of strong opposition from Paiva Weed.
