Gay married couple jointly adopts child in another first for Germany

Michael and Kai Korok were one of the first couples to wed after Germany legalized same-sex marriage in parliament on June 30, and now they have officially adopted a child together. German law states that only married couples can legally adopt a child together.

The marriage bill passed in June, and stipulated that gay couples would be eligible to adopt children under the new legislation.
